KIM Jin-Mi will present Tongue, the winner of Best Dance Performance from the Korean Association of Dance Critics and Researchers. The tension builds up in this focused performance of the harmfulness and unyielding will of language through Tongue. Korean dance scene started to pay attention to LEE Tae-Sang already in 2005 when he was chosen as the best choreographer at ‘Critics’ Choice Young Choreographers Performance.’ Reinterpretation of the motif <Romeo & Juliet>, Stupid Parrot & Romeo reveals male or female chauvinism through the relations between those in power and the weak. CHOI Ji-Yeon, actively and widely working as the assistant artistic director of CHANGMU, artistic director of ZIZ Repertoire Company, and head of CHOI Ji-Yeon Movement, brings A Tribute to the Beauty; the Sword Dance on stage which is inspired by the poetry of a Korean philosopher JUNG Yak-Yong.

KIM Jung-Ah is strong in her uniquely clear judgment, dealing with parts of the body and sensitive imagination based on short and stopping rhythm of breathing. Pause upon…. is a piece that stops one’s life that did not have a break for a moment and looks back on it. YUN Min-Suk is known for his sincere and profound approach to one motif by combining the rhythm of Korean dance and the expressiveness of contemporary dance. His Voltage Exotic portrays the world of metaphysical perception from the relations rather than existence itself of an image, object or human being. At the center of attention as the next leader of Real Dance Company, LEE Hee-Ja has continuously explored and searched for modernization of Korean dance and the communication with audience. Ghost Story II tells a story of a girl who went missing and her mother using an unusual element of ghosts, to express the pains of women who lose the most precious thing to merciless violence and are caught in deep trauma, suffering in their life and afterlife.

Raw Material : What does the prototype mean in traditional dance? How does a tradition’ result exist in the same age? The body cannot be the same as yesterday. As time flows, images have already disappeared. The silhouette of the body is gradually twisted or rewritten by common memories, images and movements that are repeated. This piece is a reconstruction of a four-month-long research in the form of a play. Its theme is to conceptualize the tradition by integrating the tradition and today’s culture.

Access - i : This piece uses movements, music and images to depict the process of self-discovery on stage. Alphabet ‘i’ in the title is not capitalized in order to visualize the intention to objectively search for who ‘i’am. This work is a collaboration with the self-exploration of KIM Jung-Eun and YANG Yong-Joon, and also a collaboration with the media-art which utilizes music and images. It will explore the disparate world between revival and phantom, existing and imaginative enemies, and reality and unreality to express the twofold phenomenon of a person’ inner and outer side. By attaching sensors on the performer’s body, the music is created on real time, in a new spacial concept.
MARS : We want to explore the physical phenomenon, about the physical principles of matters and the structure of the universe. Various elements of physical phenomenon such as elasticity, inertia, friction, gravity, and collision will be turned into movements of the body, and this transformation will lead to a new language of movement and a performing arts form. Choreographer RO Kyung-Ae(the best prize of Seoul Dance Collection 2010) hosted ‘Seoul-Yokohama Dance Connection’project on January 2012. This project was promoted by SPAF as advanced international collaboration program. And RO Kyung-Ae wants to develop the concept which she discovered during this project.
